A RETAIL PET STORE IN THE STATE MAY NOT DISPLAY, SELL, DELIVER, OFFER FOR SALE OR ADOPTION, BARTER, AUCTION, GIVE AWAY, OR OTHERWISE TRANSFER OR DISPOSE OF A DOG LESS THAN 9 MONTHS OF AGE.

Pet stores who vio­late this would be sub­ject to a $500 fine for a first offense, and $1000 fine for each sub­se­quent offense.

    I’m not sure I under­stand what it being accom­plished by dis­al­low­ing the sale of pup­pies under 9 months in retail stores. Can you explain it some? Thanks :)

      It will dras­ti­cally hurt the puppy mills, as unfor­tu­nately most stores get their pup­pies from them. So if stores are not allowed to sell them, they might stop car­ry­ing pup­pies. Liv­ing in a cage in a store for even a few weeks is detri­men­tal for the men­tal devel­op­ment of pup­pies. And peo­ple in res­cue know pup­pies get peo­ple by “the cute fac­tor” as an impulse buy, which is a zil­lion times eas­ier in a store. I know loads of peo­ple with the “we just couldn’t resist” until the dog turns into a teenage ado­les­cent and then they want to re-home him.

      Hon­estly I’ve never been quite suc­cess­ful at train­ing com­put­ers. Which RSS reader? I know for Google’s all you have to do it copy and paste the web site link.
